Cliff diving is an extreme sport which needs no special equipment or clothing. It is just your body and your mind that should be ready to jump from a dizzy height and soar through the air to plunge into a water body below. So if you do not have a fear of heights then freefalling at such great speed from an elevation is an experience worth trying.

You should also be aware of the dangers involved in this sport. If you are not aware of the proper techniques then it may prove to be fatal leading to serious injuries or even to loss of life. With the number of accidents on the rise, the Kauai government does not promote this sport in its tourism sites. Divers have suffered spinal injury to broken bones, injured discs and have also been paralysed. You also need to beware of the jutting rocks and corals in the water body below which may hurt you.

It is important that if you are a novice you start slowly from a lower height. Practising the dives with a trained diver is always recommended. Also check the sign board for any possible dangers in the water below.
